Redknapp names Arsenal Captain Martin Odegaard as the best midfielder in the Premier League, says no player is better than him
Jamie Redknapp, a Premier League star, thinks that Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, is the best midfielder in the English top flight right now.
He says that the former star of Real Madrid is now the best player in the Premier League, even better than Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne. Before, that post was thought to belong to De Bruyne.
Odegaard scored one of Arsenal’s three goals in their 3-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
With the win, the Gunners moved back ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City by five points in the Premier League standings.
Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, and Odegaard scored for Arsenal, and Leandro Trossard, who used to be a star for Brighton, was a big part of all three goals by setting them up.
The 24-year-old Norwegian player is in his first season in the league, but he has already scored 10 goals and set up 6 others.
Redknapp, who used to play for Tottenham, says that this makes the 24-year-old better than De Bruyne as the best playmaker in the Premier League.

He is the most important person right now. Redknapp told Sky Sports that he thinks no one is “better” than the other.
Normally, we would say that Kevin De Bruyne is the best centre player in the world, not just in the Premier League. But there is something wrong with this situation. Even though he wants to, he doesn’t do nearly as many things as he would like to.
