Antony and Jadon Sancho should learn from Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard – Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand has told Jadon Sancho and Antony of Manchester United to take more “risks” in their striking play. He has also told them to copy Arsenal star Leandro Trossard.

Sancho and Antony have both had hard seasons at Old Trafford, but Ferdinand thinks they can do better than they have so far.

Since coming to Old Trafford for £82 million in the summer of 2022, Brazilian player Antony has scored seven goals in 29 games for the Red Devils.

Sancho, on the other hand, has only scored five goals in 23 games, even though he has missed a lot of time with the first team due to both physical and mental problems.

Ferdinand said on the FIVE YouTube channel, “If Antony looks back on his season, he will sit there and think, “I’m not where I want to be, and I’m not doing what I thought I would be doing by now.”

Yes, he has sometimes come up with important goals, but if he is honest with himself, he will probably feel like there is more he can do.

He said that as a support group, we need to be flexible with that. Some people take longer to get up and going than others. I really hope that he will get the chance to show what he can do.

Ferdinand said, “I think one of Antony and Jadon Sancho’s skills that need to get better is that they need more chances.

“In this game, you can’t win anything if you don’t take any risks.” You can’t reach your goals without taking risks, just like you can’t win a prize without taking chances.

“Alex Ferguson would often say to us that he doesn’t want to be safe from attackers. Also, this is just one of the many things that make Bruno Fernandes so great.

Only a few guns need to be in front of him. He can be a problem for any team if the players in front of him aren’t willing to move and take chances.

Ferdinand thinks that Antony and Sancho should take a page from Trossard’s book if they are having trouble finding drivers in the last third of the play.

The Belgian forward, who joined Arsenal for £27 million in January, has been doing well so far. He had a good first half of the season while playing for Brighton.

Trossard has already provided 5 assists for the Gunners. Three of those assists came in the first 45 minutes of Sunday’s game against Fulham, which Arsenal won easily to take back the Premier League lead by five points.

“I think it was a masterstroke to sign Trossard,” said Ferdinand. He is Arsenal’s backup both upfront and out on the field.
