All of what Zinedine Zidane said on his return to management as Graham Potter faces further pressure to quit Chelsea

Graham Potter is under more and more pressure because of Chelsea’s recent problems, and Zinedine Zidane, the former manager of Real Madrid, is one of the top candidates to replace him as the club’s manager.
A little more than five months ago, Graham Potter became the manager of Chelsea, but in the next few weeks, he might not have a job. After losing to Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League, the Blues have only won one of their 10 games this year, across all competitions.
Two of the losses were to Manchester City. There were four draws and five losses in the last nine games. Still, given how much money was spent on transfers in the last two windows, this is seen as an unacceptable record for a team like Chelsea.
During the January transfer window, Chelsea spent a total of £323 million on eight new players. Enzo Fernandez moved from Benfica to Chelsea for a little less than a third of the total amount. Benoit Badiashile, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke were also signed.
Before their Premier League game against Fulham, the Chelsea manager had less than ten days to help all of the new players get used to the club. Both teams had several chances to score, but no one was able to do so. Since then, Chelsea hasn’t scored in three straight games. They tied with West Ham, lost to Borussia Dortmund, and lost to Southampton.
Because of the recent string of losses, Potter has been criticized, and Chelsea fans have given their ideas for who should replace Potter. There have been rumors that Jose Mourinho and Thomas Tuchel would return to Chelsea Bridge, but the bookies are currently betting on Mauricio Pochettino.
Zinedine Zidane is the most recent person whose odds have gone up. The club won three Champions Leagues when the former Real Madrid manager was in charge during his two separate stints at the Bernabeu Stadium. Still, he didn’t get another job as a manager after he left Madrid in May 2021.
At this point, Zidane has been away from management for about 700 days, and he has had many chances to talk about his future goals during that time. In an interview with Telefoot in June 2022, he made it clear that he wanted to go back to being a manager. “Do I still have the chance to make a difference as a coach? In fact, there are a lot of things, or at least some of them, “said he.

“I still want to work in that job, and what’s more, I’m very excited about it. I’m 50, I’ve reached all of my goals, and most importantly, I’m happy.”
When asked about his time at Real Madrid in more detail, he said: “We worked really hard, had some amazing players, and had the support of my team. Even though I was in charge of a lot, I had a great group of people on my side. Without any of them, that could not have been done. I need to be around people with whom I can easily be myself and talk. Without them, it can’t work, that’s for sure.”
Before Erik ten Hag was named as the next manager of Manchester United, Zidane said that he would not take the job. Chelsea is likely aware of this, since his explanation makes it less likely that he will take over at Stamford Bridge.
