VAR ref has been replaced for Arsenal vs Man city game

On Wednesday, the match between Arsenal and Manchester City and Liverpool and Everton each will have a new referee serving as the video assistant referee (VAR).

The goal that Brighton scored against Crystal Palace was incorrectly rejected by Brooks last weekend.

Instead of him, Andre Marriner and David Coote will be in charge of the video assistant referee responsibilities for both matches.

Brighton has previously been offered an apology by the PGMOL, which is the body responsible for assigning referees in the Premier League.

PGMOL has acknowledged that the goal scored by Pervis Estupinan versus Palace was mistakenly disallowed by VAR Brooks due to the fact that the lines on the field were drawn improperly.

The video assistant referee for Saturday’s match between Arsenal and Brentford, Lee Mason, is also under the microscope as he failed to apply the lines that would have indicated Christian Norgaard to be in an offside position before he assisted Ivan Toney in scoring the equalizer for the Gunners.
