Declan Rice talks about Chelsea’s weakness in the match against West Ham

Emerson Palmieri, who used to play fullback for West Ham, scored the equaliser after the Blues missed their chances on the wings.

Declan Rice has explained how West Ham was able to challenge Chelsea in their game on Saturday afternoon, which resulted in Emerson Palmieri scoring the goal that was intended for him to score. Graham Potter’s team got off to a quick start. Joao Felix helped them control the early going and take the lead. They fell further and further behind, though.

The growing excitement died down when Emerson, a former Blues fullback, rushed in at the far post after Jared Bowen’s clever near-post flick on. Rice showed that the goal wasn’t a fluke by explaining how the Hammers took advantage of Chelsea’s weaknesses.

The away team had four real attackers, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Enzo Fernandez, and they played with an attacking mindset. This was because the visitors didn’t have many midfielders to choose from because of recent injuries and poor play. Chelsea seemed to get what they deserved because they kept making chances and scored three goals in the first half of the game.

Because two of Potter’s players were on the wrong side of the field, the lead could not grow. Emerson’s goal took them down a notch, in part because they had been so proactive before. At the end of the game, Rice said, “It took us a little bit longer to get going and respond to their strategies.”

“But once we found out that their weakness was letting the ball through their flanks and that their wingers didn’t really come back, we were able to take advantage of that. We were able to use it to help us reach our goal in that situation. In the last 20 minutes, if we had played our cards right, we could have won.

Rice almost won the game, but Thomas Soucek’s rebound shot was ruled out because he was out of position, and Kepa Arrizabalaga saved his late header with a diving save. Then, as Chelsea was yelling for a penalty in the last second, the Czech midfielder handled the ball in the penalty area. Even though fans, analysts, and players all said that the decision was wrong, the VAR did not change it.

West Ham thought that Emerson’s goal was the only one that could have been better. They must have been very angry with Chelsea for letting in the equaliser. Even though Marc Cucurella didn’t put any pressure on the first cross, the ball still got into the box. Thiago Silva and Reece James were not paying attention, so Bowen was able to move the ball before Benoit Badiashile and stop Emerson’s run without their help.

During the game, it was hard for Mykhailo Mudryk and Cucurella to connect with each other, which is how the space to cross came to be. When the two were split up in the forward areas, the man who had played for Brighton before was even booed off the field.

Right now, the Spaniard might not be well-known, but maybe one person is. Most people think that Rice is one of the best defensive midfielders in the league. When they played, Enzo Fernandez, who just joined the team, showed once again how good he is. The Englishman said nice things about his colleague the whole time they talked.

“I’ve played against a lot of midfielders and No. 10s in the past, but in the first ten or fifteen minutes of today’s game, I saw a great player. He worked hard all over the field to make space and get the ball in a number of different ways, showing what a great player he is.

“I could figure that out right away. When you go up against someone like him, you have to be at your best.

Fernandez kept playing and helped the team by setting up Felix’s goal, but he couldn’t lead the group to their first win.
