Chelsea and Todd Boehly set to extend Thiago Silva’s contract

Thiago Silva has done well for Chelsea, so the team wants to make his current contract last longer. Silva is 38 years old and is a key part of the Blues’ defence, his current contract will come to and at the end of this season.

The Times says that the Brazilian’s attitude impressed Chelsea’s new manager, Graham Potter and that the club’s leaders see him as the perfect role model as they try to build a team for the future.

Because of injuries to Wesley Fofana, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell, Chelsea manager Graeme Potter hasn’t been able to put out a consistent team for most of the season. Even though Chelsea’s defence hasn’t been perfect this year, Thiago Silva has been a constant.

The Blues got Benoit Badiashile earlier this month, and he has started for the team in the last two games. Trevoh Chalobah is starting to consistently do his job on the right side of a back three.

People say that James and Chilwell are also very close to being fully fit again.

Silva is said to be happy in London since he moved there from PSG in 2020. He is also said to be willing to play football until he is 40 years old.

Since he took over the club last year, Todd Boehly has already spent ÂŁ450 million on player transfers. Out of that amount, more than ÂŁ150 million has been spent just this month.

He is trying to help Chelsea get out of a tough spot and move up from 10th in the Premier League standings, and he doesn’t look like he’s going to stop spending any time soon. But he will hope that his investments in Badiashile and Fofana will start to pay off soon.
