Zidane rejected and sent him out of Real Madrid but now Madrid needs him

Madrid president Florentino Pérez has seen a great opportunity while he was still putting together the team for next season. That opportunity is Sergio Reguilón

Real Madrid’s team for the upcoming season is almost complete now that Aurélien Tchouaméni, Antonio Rüdiger, and Alvaro Odriozola have signed contracts with the club. If Marco Asensio left the team, Florentino Pérez would go back to the market to add another player to Carlo Ancelotti’s attack. But the Spanish team might get one more player this summer, according to the latest news from England.

Sergio Reguilón was neglected in Tottenham

Sky Sports says that Tottenham Hotspur’s problem is that Sergio Reguilón is not on the team. The Spanish football player was in great shape at the start of the season. He had to leave Santiago Bernabéu because Zinedine Zidane didn’t want him. He was a starter and was always a threat to the other team’s defense. But after Nuno Espirito Santo left and Antonio Conte took over, he played less and Ryan Sessegon took his place in the starting lineup, putting the former Madrid player in the back.

Tottenham Hotspur told him that manager Antonio Conte doesn’t see a place for him in the team’s future and that he will have to leave the club if a good offer is made to him now that the transfer market is open. Since Marcelo left Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti and his team need the help of a second left-back to fill in for Ferland Mendy when he is out. Because of this turn of events, Real Madrid may have to change its plans.

Sergio Reguilón

David Alaba did start his career with Bayern Munich in that position, so it’s true that he could play there at any time. He played that position a lot and did well last season. Carlo Ancelotti chose to use Nacho as the left-back when Ferland Mendy was out of the Madrid team because of an injury or a suspension. This wasn’t because the Austrian wasn’t doing a good job. Instead, it was because he wanted David Alaba to keep playing in the middle. But everything could change because  Antonio Rüdiger has arrived.

Carlo Ancelotti could use David Alaba well as a winger without ignoring the defense, which was a worry for the Italian last season. Last season, however, Nacho was also there to mark that line, Madrid would have the same problem this season because when Mendy fails, the Spanish central defender would step in. Carlo Ancelotti could use David in place of Mendy now that the Chelsea central defender has arrived.

Sergio Reguilón is a transferable player, which means that real Madrid can now improve their left-back without having to use one of their central defenders to fill in for Ferland Mendy. Remember that Real Madrid kept a repurchase option with a price tag of 40 million euros.
