Sadio Mane has reportedly opted to leave Liverpool this summer, according to various sources. After winning practically everything with the Red in the past six years, the 30-year-old striker wants a change of scene to challenge himself. He arrived in July 2016 for just €41 million from Southampton. Following a 1-0 loss in the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday night in Paris, Liverpool’s No. 10 told his teammates that he will be leaving Liverpool this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Petterberg.

In need of attacking reinforcements following the exits of Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi, Paris SG is expected to sign the African champion this summer. Bayern Munich appears to have a good start in this matter, as they are on the verge of losing Robert Lewandowski, who wants to join Barcelona. Liverpool isn’t sure they want to keep Mane and have even set a price for him to leave.

Will Sadio Mane leave Liverpool this summer?

If the €30 million costs for Sadio Mane’s transfer had been quoted by various media sites, Liverpool’s management would have placed a higher value on their player, specifically €20 million more. Liverpool believes that keeping Mane for another year and losing him in 2023 is preferable to selling him for that sum. Liverpool values him at roughly €50 million and must find a suitable replacement before authorizing the move, according to the British tabloid The Athletic.

Bayern Munich is preparing a bid of 30 million euros plus 10 million euros in bonuses in order to persuade Liverpool to let the former Southampton player go, according to German daily Sport Bild. Mane would not be interested in playing a supporting position in the Messi-Neymar-Mbappe three at Paris Saint-Germain. So, unless something unexpected happens, the 2021 African champion will not be joining the Paris club this summer. He’ll join Bayern Munich right away to take Lewandowski’s place if possible.
